Uh... technically, neither up nor down, the Pentacle is not a symbol of evil. It represents the elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Spirit (god). Just... fyi.

Wow, looks like someone else is after a biscuit! Technically or not- the pentagram or 'Pentacle' IS associated with evil and it is in that context that I used it.

In fact, I'm pretty sure the pentagram is also the symbol of a pagan godess- and since the christian church didn't like pagan religions, they used it as a negative symbol to make any earth-worshippers look evil. Because of this and a number of other things, things like witch hunts were started.
